Mural Project Continues in Middle School Commons
The latest mural to brighten Barstow’s interior spaces was added to the Middle School Commons during winter break.
As part of an ongoing project made possible by a grant from the Kauffman Foundation that Barstow received in the spring of 2024, Inclusion, Diversity + Equity co-directors Jessica Chanos and David Muhammad are working with artist Katie Lee at KC Murals to brighten up spaces in each division throughout the school.
The mural in the Middle School Commons was designed to reflect the passions and interests of the students who use the space. It includes imagery related to sports, arts & literature alongside the inspirational words stating “Dream it. Believe it. Do it.”
The project will conclude with one more mural in the upper school science hallway, to be completed during the spring 2025 semester.
