Summer at Barstow offers Kansas City's best camp experience for kids of all ages, every interest and all kinds of schedules. Families love having hundreds of choices in academics, arts and hobbies, cooking, field trips, sports and STEAM learning.

Academic Camps

Academic camps are a great way to review, maintain and enhance skills introduced in the previous school year.

Early Childhood Camps

Mini and Kindi Camps support campers as they grow physically, socially and emotionally. Early childhood professionals lead independent and group activities at a 4:1 camper-to-staff ratio. Campers must be three years old on or before June 1 and toilet trained.

Driving Directions

The Barstow School is located at 11511 State Line Road in southern Kansas City, Missouri. The Dan & Cassidy Towriss IDEA Space, our STEAM learning center, is located approximately a half mile south of campus at 12200 State Line Road, Leawood, Kansas.

  • From I-435

    Take the State Line Road exit. Travel south on State Line Road for approximately 1 mile. The Barstow School is located to the left (east) at approximately 115th Street. Look for the sign marking our driveway.
  • From Midtown/Plaza

    The Barstow School is only a 20 minute drive from the Country Club Plaza. Take Ward Parkway south to 89th Street. Turn right on 89th Street to State Line Road. Turn left (south) on State Line Road and continue to 115th Street. The Barstow School is located to the left (east) at approximately 115th Street. Look for the sign marking our driveway.
