Debate Earns a "Titan" Win

With varsity and novice debate both in action, one Barstow team placed first and another placed fourth in weekend tournaments.
Novice Update
Jay Schonhoff and Addi Huff, freshmen, won first place in novice policy debate at the Titan Speech and Debate Tournament, hosted by Lee's Summit West High School on November 1 and 2. The duo did not drop a single ballot en route to their first-place finish, and Huff was ranked top speaker in every round. 

Leo Karaichev, sophomore, and Radvin Shahbazian, freshman, competed in novice policy debate and had an outstanding 3-1 preliminary record. They missed advancing to elimination rounds by a single-speaker rank. 
 
Varsity Update
The teams of Mikey Kulp & Rex Parker, sophomores, and Charlotte Turner, sophomore, & Alex Dean, junior, competed in policy debate at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Invitational Nov 1-3. Everyone earned at least their first varsity win. Kulp & Parker also qualified for the junior varsity elimination debates. They won their quarters debate, earning them a place in the top four overall.

Middle School Results
Middle school debate competed at Sumner Academy on Thursday, Nov. 7. Joseph Giacondo placed first and Varen Kolli placed third in Chamber 1. Henry Dicus placed fifth in Chamber 2.
