Lower School Marks 100 Days

Lower school celebrated the 100th day of the 2020-2021 school year on Tuesday, Feb. 2, filled with up-on-your-feet fun and learning.
The hundredth day is an opportunity to incorporate creative math and measurement lessons into Barstow classrooms. Preschool students practiced counting and collaboration by adding 100 dinosaurs to a prehistoric landscape. Across the hall in Ms. Vasquez's classroom, counting to 100 advanced to groups of ten as students bounced balls on a parachute to see if they could reach the magic number without dropping them.

In first grade, Ms. Will's  in-person and online students flipped pennies 100 times to learn about probability and outcome. Fourth graders went metric to measure 100 meters through the hallways. Specialists also marked the day — Ms. Kukuk's art students designed their own "fundred" dollar bills.
