National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists Announced
Congratulations to three seniors named 2025 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Loch Beagle, Afraah Hawa and Athena Platt are among the academically talented students who now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million combined that will be offered next spring.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition among high school students for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships, conducted by the not-for-profit National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®). U.S. high school students enter the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which serves as an initial screen of over 1.3 million entrants each year, and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.
