Barstow Counts Down to Super Bowl
During the final week before the Super Bowl, students, faculty and staff celebrated the countdown with Chiefs-themed spirit days.
Some of the daily themes included “Mahomes Monday,” during which students dressed like quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and a Coach Andy Reid theme on Thursday, where everyone sported their best Reid-style facial hair. To celebrate the 100th day of school on Tuesday, students and staff dressed as tight end Travis Kelce and singer-songwriter Taylor Swift (Kelce’s jersey number, 87, and Swift’s famous lucky number, 13, add up to 100). Students received small prizes such as candy and stickers as they arrived at school. The week ended with Red Friday, when everyone was invited to wear their Chiefs gear in anticipation of Sunday’s game.
