Theater Department Plans Return to Scotland's Fringe

Performing Arts students will have the opportunity to travel, perform and earn class credit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland during the summer of 2026. This opportunity is available to students in graduating classes 2027-2030, and all participants will receive half a class credit in Performing Arts.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which celebrates performers from around the world, takes place over three weeks in August. Students from Barstow will experience the festival as both performers and audience members. Throughout the month of July, actors and crew members will prepare a play. They will depart for Europe on August 1 where they will spend two weeks exploring, enjoying the festival and giving four performances. On the way, the group will visit London and attend a theatre performance in the West End.

This will be the fourth Barstow trip to Scotland to participate in the Festival Fringe. The most recent trip was in 2022, when students performed “Motor Court 103” by Claire Redick ’22.
