Janey Gurley Whitman '56, aged 85, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away on December 26, 2023. She is survived by her brother, George Gurley, and sister Ann Rogers. Read the full obituary here.
Gayla L. Honeycutt, after a lengthy battle Gayla slipped the ties that bound her to this mortal plain and stepped peacefully into that good night on Nov. 26, 2023.
Gayla is survived by her husband, James Richard Honeycutt; a daughter, Jennie N. Pollard; son-in-law, Steve Pollard; and grandsons, Liam and Aiden; as well as her beloved puppy, Winston. Yvonne Annette Rosser passed away on November 10, 2023. Yvonne began her career at Barstow in 1980 and retired in 2008. She taught lower school art for 28 years at Barstow and was an honorary alum.
Jane Moore '45 was born in Topeka, KS, to Dr. and Mrs. Mark H. Perrin. She graduated from The Barstow School in Kansas City, Missouri. She passed away peacefully at home in San Antonio at age 95. Arey Thompson Baas '54 passed away on October 7, 2023, surrounded by her children at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
She is survived by her three children, Steven Baas and his wife Sally, Sarah Conkling and her husband Rick, Scott Baas and his wife Sharon, four grandchildren, and great-grandchild Charlotte, as well as her sister Nancy Dods '56.

Louis Davout "Nick" Bolton II served as a Barstow trustee for 2 years. Mr. Bolton, just shy of 100 years, died peacefully at home in Birmingham on September 11, 2023. Left behind to cherish his memory and pass on his stories are his children, Louis D. Bolton III (Dave '73) of Birmingham; Elizabeth (Tibby '74) Christenberry of Nashville; Victoria (Tori) Rice of Moorestown, NJ; Katherine (Kit) Casey of Norwell, MA; James A. (Jim) Bolton (Ginny) of Birmingham, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Scott Gyllenborg is the 2025 President of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. KCMBA is the oldest and largest bar association in the Kansas City area, with 5,000 members in its nine-county service territory in Missouri and Kansas. Scott was President of the Johnson County (KS) Bar Association in 2006-07.
Patrick Delaney was named a Food Leaders Fellow at the Aspen Institute’s Food and Society Program. Delaney has been the director of federal government affairs for food and agriculture at Walmart since 2022, and previously spent five years as senior staff on the House and Senate Agriculture Committees. He lives in suburban Washington, DC, with his wife, Katie, and kids, Lucy and Abby.
Selected as a Mansfield Fellow and is embarking on a 1 year fellowship in Tokyo, Japan, as an aviation safety expert, collaborating with our partners in the Asia Pacific Region.
