Junior Places First in Music Competition
Junior Darin Goodman participated in the Kansas City Music Teachers' Association Junior Concerto Competition on Sunday, Feb. 2. He won first place in the senior division, which includes musicians in grades 9-12.
The competition invites Kansas City area students of piano, strings, and other instruments to compete and perform in a recital setting. Participants are required to memorize and perform one movement of a concerto for a panel of judges; competition performances are also open to the public.
Darin performed the Grieg Piano Concerto in A Minor, accompanied by piano teacher Gloria Hsu on a second keyboard.
