Lower School VEX Pilots Learn Robotics Mario-Style
Lower school STEAM students brought a legendary video game to life at IDEA Space this week, combining the fun of video games with real-world robotics, coding and STEAM learning.
Working with lower school STEAM teacher Jennifer McNickle, students programmed and raced VEX robots on a three-dimensional custom Mario Kart track.
Most students already recognize Mario Kart, a series of go-kart races in the Nintendo franchise that feature popular vidtest their skills in a real-world game scenario. It's a colorful and engaging example of the way Barstow utilizes IDEA Space to create memorable science, techology, engineering, arts and math lessons. See our Instagramfor more photos!
