Authors Share Their Superpowers During Book Fair
The Lower School Media Center was filled with excited students, parents and faculty this week during the book fair, themed “Reading is my superpower.” The book fair was hosted by Rainy Day Books, an independent bookstore in Fairway, Kansas.
The Media Center was open from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. each day, giving students, faculty and parents plenty of time to browse for and purchase books and activities.
Barstow welcomed authors Charlie Miley, John Patrick Green, Mike Boldt and Alastair Heim for meet and greets, Q&A sessions and book signings throughout the week. Students had the chance to listen to stories, ask questions and learn about what a typical day in the life of an author and illustrator might look like.
Students and faculty were also invited to dress up for a special spirit week. Students sported creative hairstyles, colorful socks, rainbow colors and outfits inspired by their teachers.
