Middle & Upper School Debate Wins At City, District Competitions
Middle and upper school debate teams were recognized with awards at competitions on Saturday, March 1.
The middle school debate team competed in the DEBATE-KC City Championships. Seventh grader Adam Hammoud won first place in Student Congress; eighth grader Paddy Cullan placed fourth, and seventh graders Krish Iyer and Jaiden Shah made the finals.
Upper school debate teams participated in the MSHSAA District Tournament hosted by Odessa High School. Freshman Dylan Freiden and sophomore Leo Karaichev placed second, and freshmen Ali Akbar Khumri and Jay Schonhoff placed third. Both teams qualified for the State Tournament, hosted by Missouri State University April 25-26.
