Robotics Ramps Up at IDEA Space

Upper school robotics team members started building toward another successful season at IDEA Space this week.
On Tuesday, returning robotics team members met with new Head Coach Aaron Dalton to prepare for prospective students to join them later in the week. During Thursday's meeting, new members joined the veterans in four groups for team-building activities.

One challenge involved making a square out of string while blindfolded, another group created a free-standing ring of Pringles potato chips, a third group built Legos using only verbal communication and the last group enjoyed an in-depth tour of IDEA Space.

The team ended the evening watching "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," the movie that inspired their name, the Kuhnigits, and much of the team's memorable and award-winning imagery and branding. The team's first compeition will be at the Lee's Summit High School Cow Town Throwdown Oct. 18-19, during which they put last year's robot through the test on a FIRST-sanctioned playing field.
