Carlos Salazar, junior, was recognized as a Dean’s List Award Finalist at the FIRST Robotics Oklahoma Regional on Saturday, April 4. This award recognizes leadership and professionalism in robotics; only two students from each regional competition are selected as finalists.
After a send-off from their classmates last week, robotics team FRC1939 traveled to Oklahoma where they spent three days competing in games and activities alongside 47 other high school robotics teams. They showed significant teamwork, professionalism and problem-solving skills and met all challenges with patience, persistence and grace for one another.
Along with Carlos’ award, the team was honored with the Imagery Award, which recognizes excellence in engineering and visual design of the robot and team branding.
