Knights Welcome New Coaches

The spring sports season begins next week with two new upper school head coaches joining the Barstow athletic staff. Mark Pfau will lead the boys tennis team and Jeremy Spears will coach track and field.
Coach Mark Pfau recently moved to the Kansas City area from Los Angeles, California. His high school coaching experience includes football and tennis. Coach Pfau brings over 20 years of tennis coaching experience to the Knights program. He most recently served as head coach at Harvard Westlake School, where he helped guide the Wolverines to nine consecutive league titles. He is currently a tennis pro at Genesis Health Club and is very excited to have this opportunity to continue the Knights’ legacy of championship tennis.

Coach Jeremy Spears returns to The Barstow School where he once was an assistant track & field coach, this time to take on the head track and field coaching position. Since 2010, he has been an assistant track and field coach at University Academy, Harmon, Blue Valley Northwest, Shawnee Mission West and Pembroke Hill. A former track, basketball and football player, Coach Spears played for the Mid-Missouri Outlaws professional indoor football team. Coach Spears grew up in Olathe where he was a member of the Olathe North football and track and field teams. He is dedicated to developing student-athletes on and off the track at The Barstow School.
