World language students attended the Modern Language Film Festival at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on Friday, April 4. The festival is open to students in grades 6-12 from Kansas and Missouri, who write and produce original films and submit them for competition.
35 students in French, Spanish and Chinese classes traveled to Warrensburg this year for the festival, where they attended screenings and workshops and participated in film-related activities. The festival ended with an awards ceremony, where participants were presented with awards in the comedy, documentary, drama, mystery, fairy tale and “super short” categories.
Barstow students performed well, with filmmakers from each of the three World Language classes winning awards. A complete list of films and award winners will be published next week.
